This year The Infusionist has been travelling to source ingredients directly from the plantation to ensure the ingredient is unadulterated and fair trade.



Below is a list of a few ingredients that I use with their benefits and properties. 

Aloe Vera (Aloe Barbadensis) -

Aloe Vera contains many vitamins including A, C, E, folic acid, choline, B1, B2, B3 (niacin), B6. Aloe Vera is also one of the few plants that contains vitamin B12. Contains healing properties for the skin, hydrates, moisturize and rejuvenates the skin. Aloe Vera increases the elasticity of the skin making it more flexible through collagen and elastin repair. It also helps to soften and soothe the skin and supply oxygen to the skin cells, increasing blood flow to the skin through capillary dilation.

Apricot Kernel Oil (Prunus Armeniaca) -

A mild oil that is easily absorbed and effectively softens skin. It is especially good for dry and, mature and sensitive skin. The Infusionist uses this oil in lip balms, vitamin day creams.


Avocado Oil (Persea Gratissima) -

Extracted from the dried fruit pulp. It is a mild nourishing oil, rich in Vitamins A, B5, D & E, which is brilliant for awakening tired, lacklustured, damaged and dry skin. The Infusionist uses this oil in vitamin day creams


Cetyl Alcohol -

Cetyl Alcohol makes creams and lotions firmer and gives them consistency. It stabilises emulsification, helping to create an emulsion which is not easily separated. The Infusionist only buys Cetyl Alcohol that has come from vegetable sources. Its cosmetic effect is as an emollient, making the skin soft and smooth.

Cocoa Butter (Theobroma Cocao) -

 Derived from the Cocoa Bean found on the Cocoa Tree, a tropical evergreen grown in South America and Africa. Gives softness, nourishment, protection and consistency to skincare products. It is mild and most people tolerate it well.

Coconut Oil (Cocos Nucifera) -


Evening Primrose Oil (Oenothera Biennis) -

High in Gamma Linolenic Acid, needed by the body to produce prostaglandins. Prostaglandins are needed by the body to keep moisture, elasticity and suppleness to skin.


Grapeseed Oil (Vitis Vinifera) -

Low in saturated fats and rich in vitamins and minerals, it is used in cosmetics, soaps and more recently, as a cooking oil.

Due to its high linoleic acid content, grapeseed oil has good moisturising and nourishing properties. The light green oil rich in essential fatty acids, vitamins, minerals, protein and gamma linolenic acid.

Grapeseed oil is suitable for all skin types. It is light, slightly astringent and easily absorbed, making it an excellent base oil for massaging, but also leaves skin velvety soft and smooth without feeling greasy.  


Olive Oil (Olea Europaea) -

Unadulterated cold pressed olive oil, good at softening and protecting dry skin and increasing circulation. Is also a mild natural form of sun screen. The Infusionist uses this in hand lotions.


Panthenol (Pro Vitamin B5) -

Pantothenic Acid binds moisture within the deeper and surface layers of the skin,  nails and roots of hair. It encourages cell regeneration whilst forming a protective film on hair strands which is particularly good for restoring dry and damaged hair. It is antibacterial and increases skin pigmentation in the sun whilst reducing the damaging effects of sun exposure. The Infusionist uses this ingredient in all creams and lotions.

 Preservative (Benzyl Alcohol, Salicylic Acid, Glycerine, Sorbic Acid) -

This perservative in a new formaulation which fights against bacteria, yeast and mould in skincare products. It is one of the more natural preservatives on the market and is widely accepted in the industry as effective. It does not contain parabens, formaldehyde or isothiazolones in it's formulation and is therefore one of the most mild perservatives on skin with a good safety profile.

Rosehip Oil (Rosa Canina) -

High in Vitamin C and essential omega 3 & 6 fatty acids to help maintain natural healthy skin. It helps rebuild damaged skin  tissue caused by the sun, reduce skin pigmentation and scar tissue and helps with acne scars and blemishes. The Infusionist uses this in Vvitamin day creams for face.


Safflower Oil (Carthamus Tinctorius) -

High in Linoleic Acid and omega 6 essential fatty acids, it plays a vital role in maintianing healthy skin. The Infusionist uses this butter in face cream, body lotion, hand lotion.


Shea Butter (Butyrospermum Parkii) -

Excellent skin softening and anti-inflamatory properties, encouraging the reduction of stretch marks, small wounds, dry skin and skin infections such as eczema. It is highly moisturising and protective having mild anti-bacterial and anti-inflammatory properties. Shea butter acts as a skin protector from the sun and has a natural SPF of 2-3. Shea butter also stimulates the formation and growth of new cells. The Infusionist uses this butter in all products.

The shea butter that The Infusionist uses has been fairly traded from a project in Ghana.  This project was helps to support the communities and it has gained NOP Organic and EU certification.


Sunflower Oil (Helianthus Annus) -

Contains a high level of Linoleic Acid and omega 6 essential fatty acids. It is aparticularly effective in reducing large pores as is absorbs easily into skin.


Sweet Almond Oil (Prunus Amygdalus Dulcis) -

A mild oil that makes skin soft, smooth and supple, good for most skin types.
